Kevin, thanks. Regarding the Adizero, they're the first Adidas I've ever worn, and I just have them because Gilbert gave them to me to wear test. I think they're the CS model? I don't have anything to judge them against since they're also the first flats I've ever worn, but I really like them because they're so light. My feet do hurt a little after racing in them though because there's not much padding or support, but they feel fast. Again, I don't have anything to judge against though other than the bulky Brooks trainers I usually wear.

As to humility, maybe it's because running can be so difficult and bring us to our figurative and literal knees, plus we know there is always someone faster.

DV,
nicely done. i am an Adidas shoes guy, i love them...i have worn many, many pairs from the Boston Classic to the Supernova Cushion 6's....what do you think of the Adizero's? which ones do you have?

also, your blogs are excellent. so, is it a function of being a runner or a gazelle or just what is it that makes most of us (runners/gazelles) so darn humble. seriously...you are getting wicked fast (as are so many others Sam, Dan, Michelle..always was fast, Peter R., Michael Woo, Melissa A...too many people to name...), but everyone is always very, very humble about everything. It is actually pleasant and all, not to hear folks brag about this and that. Anyway, that is one of the things i find most interesting about all the blogs i read and about our group as a whole.

well done...despite what you may say on your blog, sub 18 is seriously fast. you'll be sub 17 for 5k, sub 38 for 10k, and probably 2:52 if you run another marathon.

adios
