just wondering … am I at the next level yet?
i hear that i’m now a “half-marathon guy”. guess it’s always good to be known as something, whatever it is, and even if it’s mildly (or wildly) inaccurate.
i’m going to try to leave my racing to actual races, not workouts. also, i’ve lately been contemplating trying to run twice a day. i’ve even set my alarm a couple of mornings, but my non-pre-gazelle-workout nights are usually fairly late trying to fit in various bidness, so i haven’t actually risen with those alarms. but maybe, soon.
the knee feels well. was it RICE? or the decision to just get over it? or new shoes? or a combination?
am i fat for a runner? for a normal human being? reading this thread on letsrun.com, it seems i might be about 30lbs over optimum weight, which is laughable. i’m about 6’2 and172. if i was 133 like one of those people claim to be, i’d be dead.
another interesting thing i read on letsrun (and that relates to the racing/twice a day thing above) is this “article” on how not to suck. getting past the questionable writing skills, it makes sense to me. if you want to be a runner, you need to run more, not necessarily “harder”. i definitely think i try to run too hard too often.
but as i’ve said before, nobody knows anything. now i gotta go stuff down buckets of protein.
