2K repeats. 7:31, 7:39, 7:36. my 2K repeats in June were 8:02, 7:44, 7:20, so I guess I was a bit faster on average today, but slower at peak. This morning Gilbert gave his usual “start out slow, finish fast” speech, but I could tell 5 seconds into the first repeat we were going too fast. Or could have been the bike ride I did 10 hours before that left my legs a bit tired. I struggled on the second one. Third trip felt good, but felt faster than time indicated. It was a different group this morning. Jimmy Windham in our group? C’mon. And a couple newer guys. New guys always go too fast.
Anyway, about the title, “Body Over Mind”: G wanted us to do a fourth repeat, and when half the group lined up, my mind said “don’t be a wuss, just do it”, but my body said, “please sir, not another one.” So I took the easy way out and went to Barton Springs to swim a lap.
