The Science of Tempo

by dv July 25, 2007 No Comments

“Here is the most scientific explanation of tempo pace you will ever need: Tempo pace is hard, but not so hard that you couldn’t do it 4 or 5 times a week if you wanted to. When you are finished with a tempo run you should feel invigorated, not exhausted. When fit, tempo pace is about halfway between marathon pace and half-marathon pace. When in doubt, always lean towards marathon pace.” – Malmo
